An Example

How scammers do it is a mystery but the following is a frequent occurrence. Shortly after making a purchase, an email will arrive similar to the one below.

On March 6th, 2016, I made an internet purchase from amazon.ca that will be delivered by one of the big delivery companies. The following day, March 7th, I received the following scam email. The first clue was obvious, I knew from email from Amazon who the delivery company would be. it wasn’t being delivered by FedEx. Secondly the shipping number wasn’t included, and this information, including the delivery company is provided by Amazon. That ZIP file, at the bottom of the email, if opened contains a program that lifts information from your hard drive.
