AIM: To support the recording of the history of education in our branch and the preservation of school properties of historical value.

At our Branch this includes developing the “History of Langley Schools”  on our web site.

Note: The History of Langley Schools is a book published in 2004 by members of the LRTA and funded by the RR Smith Foundation.  A copy exists in every school library. It has been transferred to our web site. With our members input, this will become a living document of excellence in public education in our Langley School District.

We encourage our members to read up on schools where they taught or administered and send anecdotes to add to a school’s history.  Send us information and pictures and don’t be shy bragging about the things you did to enhance the lives of your students.

For schools constructed after 2004 we have only one entry to date, and that is the opening of Richard Bulpitt Elementary. We intend to add information for all schools not already listed in our document.
