Our group shared their most recent adventures and whetted our appetite describing their next adventures. Rosemary, Janet, Alan and Ruth got together through Let’s Go and are going together on a 33 night cruise to Japan and more. Pearl and Kerry added to the excitement by describing their trips to Japan.
Kerry bought her Entertainment Book at COSTCO for $19.99.
Let’s Go to the Movies
Pearl brought Cineplex tickets. Each ticket is $9.00 and can be used in a number of different theatres. This is a saving of about $3.00 a ticket if you are a senior and even more if you do not qualify for that rate. The best deal is still discount Tuesday so save the tickets for some other time. You can use the discount ticket and get Scene points as well. If you would like tickets contact Pearl at [email protected] . She will send you an order form via email. You can send this order form back to her with a cheque and self addressed stamped envelop and you are in business.
Let’s Go to the Opera
Several Let’s Go members attended the Live from the Met broadcast of Nabucco on Jan. 7th at the Langley Colossus theatre. This rarely performed opera, conducted by James Levine, was a feast for the eyes, ears and heart. The Hebrew slave chorus in act 3 was so moving that Maestro Levine instructed the orchestra and chorus to sing it a second time. An encore production will be at local theatres all over the world in Feb.
The next Live from the Met broadcast will be Romeo and Juliet at 10:00 am on January 21st.
Let’s Go on an Adventure
Everyone has been sent via email Enjoy Tours 2017 catalogue. Initially there was a little trouble opening it on his web page but it works fine now. For those of you new to Enjoy Tours, there is an opportunity to meet Troy and hear about the years adventures on Feb. 8th, 1:00 at St. Luke Church, 10177 148th St, Surrey and Feb. 9th, 1:00 at Oakridge Seniors Centre, 650 W 41st Ave., Vancouver. You need to RSVP at 604 630 2434 ext. 1 if you would like to attend.
Some B.C.R.T.A. branches book tours as a service for their members. R.R. Smith Memorial Fund Foundation is affiliated with Enjoy Tours and when B.C.R.T.A. / R.R. Smith members book a tour, trip or vacation with Enjoy Tours, Troy makes a donation to this educational charity formed by the B.C.R.T.A. You must tell them you are a member when booking.
Let’s Go members are going with Enjoy Tours to Cavalier Odysseo on Saturday, Feb. 18th., the Mystery tour on Tuesday, March 7th and Whistler Fairmont Spring Celebration on April 10th.

One of Troy’s new vacations is Haida Gwaii/Grizzly Bear/Via Rail. Many Let’s Go members had asked for at chance to go to Haida Gwaii. Check out the diverse itinerary.
Let’s Go and Get With It
The Langley Retired Teachers’ Association is planning workshops to help members become more comfortable with their iMac, iPhone, iPad. The first part of this plan takes place at the next Langley Retired Teachers' Association luncheon on January 24th. Linda Fawcus, from Gluu Technology, is the guest speaker for the luncheon. Gluu Technology is a not for profit organization dedicated to helping those born before 1964 to learn to use these devices. If you have not signed up to come to the luncheon, this is a very good reason to do so.
In the near future, the Langley Retired Teachers' Association will sponsor a longer workshop with Linda and there will be an opportunity for members to sign up for classes. More information will be forthcoming. Dates and times are to be announced.
The Langley Senior Resources Society is sponsoring 2 free workshops given by Linda. “Top 10 Technology Things Seniors Should Embrace” Friday January 13 from 10:30 -11:30. Followed by “Hackers, Crackers, Ratters & Trolls” from 11:45-12:45. To pre-register call the LSRS at
